1. What Lovaio Pay is
Lovaio Pay is an optional way to pay for eligible transactions between Lovaio users. These terms apply when Lovaio Pay is offered and you choose to use it. You may instead agree an in-person or cash transaction where permitted by law and Lovaio policies.
Lovaio provides the checkout feature; Stripe processes the payment. Lovaio is not a bank, escrow provider or card processor. The agreement for the item remains between the buyer and seller. Using Lovaio Pay does not make Lovaio the seller or guarantee the item, its delivery or the outcome of the transaction.
2. Payment processing and payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe through its secure payment-entry tools. Lovaio does not receive or store your complete card details or seller bank-account login credentials. Lovaio receives payment status and limited transaction information needed to operate checkout and provide support.
Stripe, your bank or your payment provider may require identity checks, payment authentication or additional information. A payment may be declined or delayed if required checks cannot be completed.
Stripe processes information under its applicable terms and Privacy Policy, available at https://stripe.com/legal and https://stripe.com/privacy. Lovaio’s use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, linked below. Never send complete card details, security codes, banking passwords or one-time authentication codes to Lovaio support or another user.
3. Agreed seller price and buyer total
The seller specifies or agrees the item price. Before you confirm payment, Lovaio Pay shows the agreed seller amount, the Lovaio Pay service fee and the total payable by the buyer. Review the item, price, currency and total before proceeding.
For a successful transaction that is not refunded or reversed, the agreed seller amount is the minimum seller proceeds provided through Lovaio Pay. This does not guarantee an immediate bank payout or remove the consequences of refunds, disputes, taxes or charges separately imposed by the seller’s bank.
4. Lovaio Pay service fee
When you choose Lovaio Pay, a service fee may be added to the seller’s price. The buyer pays the displayed total, including that fee. Fees may vary according to the transaction and supported payment circumstances; they are not promised to remain fixed.
Opening checkout or viewing a quote does not by itself charge you. You must take the explicit payment action shown in checkout and complete any required authentication. If the quote expires or a new total is required, review the new total before paying. We do not add an undisclosed Lovaio Pay fee to a total you have already accepted.
Any service fee and its treatment must comply with applicable law. Nothing in these terms authorizes a fee or payment surcharge that the law prohibits.
5. When payment is confirmed
Treat a payment as successful only after Stripe has confirmed it and Lovaio shows the transaction as paid or payment confirmed. A card, Google Pay or bank authentication screen alone is not confirmation that Lovaio has recorded payment.
Payment confirmation does not by itself confirm delivery, the condition of the item or completion of your arrangement. Sellers should check the payment status in Lovaio rather than rely only on a screenshot supplied by a buyer.
6. Failed, canceled or interrupted payments
A failed, canceled or interrupted attempt may not complete. A connection error or closed screen can also leave the result temporarily unclear. Check the payment status in Lovaio before trying again or making a separate payment to the seller.
Do not intentionally submit duplicate payments. If the result remains unclear, or your bank shows a debit while Lovaio does not show paid, contact support with the transaction reference. Your payment provider may show a temporary authorization or pending entry; ask that provider about its status. Do not assume that a pending entry is a completed payment or that it has already been refunded.
7. Seller payouts
Eligible sellers receive payouts through Stripe to their approved payout destination. Payment confirmation and arrival of money in a seller’s bank account are different steps.
Payout timing depends on Stripe, banking systems, verification, account status and applicable payment rules. Payouts are not guaranteed to be instantaneous or to arrive by a particular time. Additional checks or restrictions may delay availability. Sellers should use the information Stripe provides about their payout account and contact support if they need help understanding a Lovaio transaction.
8. Refunds
A refund may be available depending on what happened, the buyer’s agreement with the seller, applicable Lovaio policies and the law. Changing your mind does not automatically generate a refund. Nothing in this policy removes a statutory withdrawal, refund or other mandatory consumer right where it applies.
For item-related problems, contact the seller promptly and follow the reporting and support procedures in the Buyer Protection, Marketplace and Seller policies, linked below. You may contact support directly if fraud, account security or an unresolved payment is involved. Contacting the seller or Lovaio is not a condition for exercising a legal right or meeting a payment-provider deadline.
Whether the item price or any Lovaio Pay service fee is refundable depends on the circumstances and applicable law. A refund can have payment-processing consequences, including charges that a payment provider does not return. These terms do not automatically authorize deductions from a refund you are legally entitled to receive. Ask support how the price and service fee will be treated in your case.
A refund request is not itself a completed refund. Processing and bank posting may take time. Lovaio Pay does not provide an automatic reimbursement guarantee or replace the protections and limitations explained in the Buyer Protection Policy.
9. Disputes and chargebacks
You may have rights through your card issuer or payment provider, including rights relating to an unauthorized or disputed payment. Follow that provider’s instructions and deadlines. Nothing here restricts those rights or requires you to wait for Lovaio support before protecting them.
Lovaio and Stripe may request relevant transaction, communication or delivery evidence to investigate a payment dispute. Provide accurate information and keep relevant records. Do not submit knowingly false disputes, conceal a refund already received or seek duplicate reimbursement for the same loss.
Fraudulent or abusive use of disputes or chargebacks may violate Lovaio policies and may lead to proportionate account restrictions. Making a genuine complaint or exercising a legal right is not misuse. Payment disputes do not make Lovaio an arbitrator of the underlying item agreement.
10. Currency and conversion
The transaction currency is displayed before payment. Your bank or payment provider may convert that amount if your card or account uses another currency, and may apply its own exchange rate or charges.
Lovaio does not set or control conversion performed by your bank or payment provider and, subject to applicable law, is not responsible for that provider’s conversion rates or fees. Check with your provider before paying if currency conversion matters to you. A refund may be converted at a different rate by that provider.
11. Seller verification
Sellers may need to complete Stripe’s account setup, identity and payout-verification requirements before accepting payments or receiving payouts. Sellers must provide accurate, current information and complete additional checks when required.
Stripe’s applicable account terms govern its payment and payout services. Completing verification does not guarantee that every payment will be accepted, that a payout will be immediate or that a seller or item is endorsed by Lovaio.
12. Prohibited transactions
Do not use Lovaio Pay for goods, services or activities prohibited by applicable law, Lovaio policies or Stripe’s rules. The Prohibited Items Policy and Acceptable Use Policy apply, alongside Stripe’s prohibited and restricted business rules at https://stripe.com/legal/restricted-businesses.
A listing being visible, or a payment option being displayed, is not permission to carry out a prohibited transaction. Do not use another person’s payment details without authorization or misrepresent a transaction to avoid a restriction.
13. Fraud, misuse and restrictions
Where reasonably necessary to address suspected fraud, abuse, sanctions, payment risk, legal requirements or policy violations, Lovaio may decline or block a payment, restrict access to Lovaio Pay, request verification or suspend an account, subject to applicable law and our existing policies.
Stripe or a payment provider may also apply its own checks or restrictions. These terms do not give Lovaio an unrestricted right to seize funds. Any handling of funds remains subject to applicable law and the relevant payment-provider terms. Use the review or appeal procedures in our existing policies if you believe a Lovaio restriction is incorrect.
14. Availability and supported payment methods
Lovaio Pay is not available for every user, country, currency, transaction or payment method. Only the options actually offered for your eligible checkout may be used, and supported options can change over time. Publication of this policy does not mean Lovaio Pay is available to everyone.
Card payments and Google Pay may be offered only where supported by Lovaio, Stripe, your device and your payment provider. Apple Pay is not currently offered. Do not assume an unavailable payment method is supported simply because your device has it.
If Lovaio Pay is unavailable, you may arrange another permitted payment method with the other user. Lovaio Pay payment confirmation does not apply to cash or payments made outside Lovaio Pay.
15. Taxes and user obligations
Buyers and sellers remain responsible for their own tax, reporting and other legal obligations relating to their transactions where applicable. Using Lovaio Pay does not change those obligations or replace any invoice, receipt or information that a seller is legally required to provide.
16. Relationship to other policies
These terms operate together with the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Marketplace Policy, Seller Policy, Buyer Protection Policy, Prohibited Items Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. Direct links are provided under Related documents below.
These terms expressly describe the optional Lovaio Pay checkout where it is offered. They do not introduce escrow, insurance or a guarantee of transaction outcomes, or change the buyer–seller agreement for the item. Other permitted arrangements remain governed by the applicable existing policies.
Nothing here excludes mandatory legal rights or overrides a legal obligation of Lovaio, a seller or a payment provider. If you believe these terms and another policy are inconsistent, contact us for clarification before proceeding where practical. This does not delay or limit your legal rights.
17. Support and contact
For a Lovaio Pay transaction question, contact marketplace@lovaio.com or support@lovaio.com. For a legal question, contact legal@lovaio.com. Include your Lovaio transaction reference, the date and a short description of the issue; do not send complete card details, security codes or banking credentials.
