1. Introduction

Welcome to the Lovaio Buyer Protection Policy.

Our goal is to help buyers use the Marketplace safely, make informed purchasing decisions and reduce the risk of fraud or misunderstandings.

This Policy explains the safety measures, recommendations and Platform processes designed to promote a secure Marketplace experience.

Our objective is to promote informed purchasing decisions while maintaining realistic expectations about Lovaio's role as a technology platform.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Lovaio acts solely as a technology platform connecting users. Lovaio is not the buyer, seller, owner, reseller or payment intermediary for items listed by Marketplace users and is generally not a party to transactions concluded between them.

For that reason, buyers remain responsible for making informed purchasing decisions and exercising appropriate caution before completing a transaction.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Marketplace Policy, Seller Policy, Community Guidelines, Trust & Safety Policy and all other applicable Platform policies.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all users who purchase, intend to purchase or otherwise obtain goods or services through the Lovaio Marketplace.

It applies regardless of whether the seller is:

  • a private individual;
  • a business;
  • an occasional seller;
  • a professional seller;
  • located domestically or internationally;

Buyer rights

Certain legal rights available to buyers may vary depending on the applicable laws and the nature of the transaction.

3. Lovaio's Role

Lovaio provides technology that enables Marketplace participants to discover listings, communicate with one another and arrange transactions.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Lovaio does not:

  • own listed items;
  • inspect every item;
  • guarantee listing accuracy;
  • verify every seller;
  • guarantee successful transactions;
  • provide payment services;
  • act as an escrow provider;
  • guarantee delivery;
  • guarantee product quality;

Marketplace safety

However, Lovaio actively works to improve Marketplace safety by:

  • enforcing Marketplace policies;
  • reviewing user reports;
  • restricting fraudulent activity where detected;
  • removing listings that violate Platform rules;
  • supporting users through reporting mechanisms;
  • continuously improving Marketplace safety tools;

Continuous improvement

Lovaio continuously evaluates new safety measures and technologies designed to reduce fraud and improve user trust.

4. Buying Safely

Before completing a purchase, buyers are encouraged to:

  • carefully read the listing;
  • review all available photographs;
  • ask questions if information is unclear;
  • verify important details;
  • compare prices where appropriate;
  • exercise caution if an offer appears unusually attractive;
  • avoid unnecessary pressure to complete transactions quickly;

Independent judgment

Buyers should never assume that a listing is trustworthy solely because it appears on the Platform.

Instead, buyers should use their own judgment together with the safety tools provided by Lovaio.

5. Recognising Potential Fraud

Although most Marketplace users act in good faith, buyers should remain alert to potential warning signs.

Examples of situations that may require additional caution include:

  • prices that are significantly below normal market value;
  • sellers refusing to answer reasonable questions;
  • inconsistent descriptions or photographs;
  • requests to communicate exclusively outside the Platform;
  • pressure to complete payment immediately;
  • repeated changes to agreed transaction terms;
  • requests to use unusual payment methods;
  • obvious inconsistencies regarding ownership or item history;

Warning signs

The presence of one or more warning signs does not automatically mean that fraud is occurring, but buyers should exercise additional caution before proceeding.

6. Communication with Sellers

Lovaio encourages buyers to communicate respectfully and professionally throughout the transaction process.

Buyers should:

  • ask questions before purchasing where necessary;
  • request clarification if information is unclear;
  • communicate honestly;
  • retain important transaction information where appropriate;
  • keep Marketplace conversations within the Platform whenever reasonably possible;

Platform messaging

Using Platform messaging may assist Lovaio in reviewing reports relating to Marketplace activity where such information is available.

7. Inspecting Items

Whenever reasonably possible, buyers should inspect an item before completing a transaction.

Where an in-person inspection is practical, buyers are encouraged to verify:

  • the condition of the item;
  • completeness;
  • functionality;
  • authenticity where relevant;
  • included accessories;
  • visible defects;

Remote transactions

For remote transactions, buyers should request additional photographs or information whenever necessary before making payment.

8. Payment Safety

Buyers should carefully consider how payment will be made.

Whenever reasonably possible, buyers should:

  • use payment methods they understand;
  • retain payment confirmations;
  • verify payment details before sending funds;
  • avoid transferring money under unreasonable pressure;
  • exercise caution when asked to pay through unfamiliar methods;

Payment limitations

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Lovaio does not process payments between Marketplace users and cannot reverse completed transactions.

9. Delivery and Collection

Before completing a purchase, buyers and sellers should clearly agree on:

  • delivery arrangements;
  • collection location;
  • shipping costs;
  • expected delivery time;
  • responsibility for transportation where applicable;

Inspecting delivered items

Buyers should carefully inspect delivered items as soon as reasonably possible after receipt.

If an issue is identified, buyers should communicate with the seller promptly.

10. Reporting Problems

If buyers believe that a Marketplace listing or transaction involves fraud, deception or another violation of Platform policies, they are encouraged to report the matter through the available reporting mechanisms.

Reports may include concerns relating to:

  • misleading listings;
  • counterfeit goods;
  • prohibited items;
  • fraudulent behaviour;
  • abusive communication;
  • suspected scams;
  • repeated policy violations;

Supporting evidence

Providing accurate information and supporting evidence may assist Lovaio in reviewing the report more efficiently.

11. Resolving Issues with Sellers

Most Marketplace issues can be resolved through direct, respectful communication between buyers and sellers. Buyers and sellers are encouraged to remain courteous and solution-oriented throughout the process.

Before reporting a dispute, buyers are encouraged to:

  • explain the issue clearly;
  • provide relevant photographs where appropriate;
  • describe the expected resolution;
  • allow the seller a reasonable opportunity to respond;

Direct resolution

Many misunderstandings can be resolved without formal Marketplace intervention.

Where direct communication is unsuccessful, buyers may submit a report through the Platform.

12. Lovaio's Role in Disputes

Lovaio is generally not a party to transactions concluded between Marketplace users.

Accordingly, Lovaio does not normally determine:

  • contractual rights;
  • ownership disputes;
  • payment obligations;
  • product quality;
  • warranty claims;
  • compensation claims;

Platform actions

However, Lovaio may:

  • review reports alleging violations of Platform policies;
  • remove listings that breach Marketplace rules;
  • restrict fraudulent accounts;
  • request additional information from users;
  • preserve relevant information where legally required;
  • cooperate with competent authorities where appropriate;

Facilitating communication

In certain situations, Lovaio may facilitate communication between users, but does not act as an arbitrator or legal decision-maker unless expressly stated otherwise.

13. Fraud Prevention

Lovaio continuously works to improve Marketplace safety.

Examples of safety measures may include:

  • automated fraud detection;
  • manual moderation;
  • suspicious activity monitoring;
  • user reporting systems;
  • policy enforcement;
  • account restrictions;
  • identity verification where available;
  • continuous improvement of Marketplace security tools;

Reasonable caution

Not every fraudulent attempt can be prevented, and buyers should continue exercising reasonable caution when using the Marketplace.

14. Buyer Responsibilities

Marketplace safety is a shared responsibility.

Buyers are expected to:

  • read listings carefully;
  • communicate honestly;
  • comply with applicable laws;
  • respect sellers;
  • avoid abusive behaviour;
  • avoid fraudulent payment disputes;
  • refrain from attempting to misuse Marketplace reporting systems;

False reports

Submitting knowingly false reports or abusing Platform safety features may result in enforcement action.

15. High-Risk Transactions

Certain transactions naturally involve higher levels of risk.

Examples include:

  • unusually expensive items;
  • international transactions;
  • collectibles;
  • luxury goods;
  • electronic devices;
  • vehicles;
  • rare items;
  • transactions involving shipping to third parties;

Additional caution

For higher-risk transactions, buyers are encouraged to exercise additional caution and request further information before proceeding.

16. Identity Verification

Where identity verification features are available, buyers may choose to consider verified status as one of several factors when evaluating Marketplace listings.

Verification does not constitute a guarantee that:

  • every listing is accurate;
  • every transaction will be successful;
  • every seller will fulfil their obligations;

Verification limitations

Instead, verification should be viewed as one element of the overall trust assessment.

Buyers should continue exercising independent judgment regardless of verification status.

17. Policy Violations

Where Lovaio reasonably believes that a buyer has violated this Policy or other applicable Platform policies, appropriate enforcement measures may be taken.

Depending on the circumstances, such measures may include:

  • providing guidance;
  • issuing warnings;
  • restricting Marketplace features;
  • limiting account functionality;
  • temporarily suspending Marketplace access;
  • permanently restricting Marketplace privileges;
  • suspending or terminating Platform accounts;

Enforcement decisions

Enforcement decisions are based on the available information, the seriousness of the conduct, previous policy violations and the potential impact on users or the Platform.

Where appropriate, Lovaio may request additional information before making a final decision.

18. Appeals

Buyers who believe that Marketplace enforcement has been applied incorrectly may request a review.

Appeals should include:

  • a description of the challenged decision;
  • any relevant supporting information;
  • any additional documentation that may assist the review;

Appeal process

Where appropriate, appeals may involve additional human review.

Submitting an appeal does not automatically suspend or reverse an enforcement decision.

Lovaio reviews appeals in good faith and seeks to reach fair, consistent and proportionate decisions.

Each appeal is assessed individually based on the available information.
