1. Introduction

Welcome to the Lovaio Content Moderation & Reporting Policy.

Lovaio is committed to maintaining a safe, trustworthy and legally compliant Platform through fair, transparent and proportionate content moderation.

This Policy explains how Lovaio reviews reports, evaluates potentially problematic content, applies moderation measures and provides users with opportunities to request a review of moderation decisions.

Content moderation is intended to protect users, preserve Platform integrity and support compliance with applicable laws while respecting freedom of expression where appropriate.

This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Acceptable Use Policy, Marketplace Policy, Trust & Safety Policy and all other applicable Platform policies.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all content and activities made available through the Platform, including:

  • Marketplace listings;
  • photographs;
  • videos;
  • profile information;
  • comments;
  • reviews;
  • messages where moderation is permitted by applicable law;
  • AI-generated content;
  • account names;
  • business profiles;
  • advertisements where applicable;
  • and any other content or functionality provided through the Platform;

3. Principles of Moderation

Lovaio seeks to apply moderation decisions fairly, consistently and proportionately.

Moderation decisions may consider factors including:

  • applicable law;
  • Platform policies;
  • context;
  • potential harm;
  • user safety;
  • repeated violations;
  • available evidence;
  • the rights and legitimate interests of all affected parties;

Case-by-case assessment

Not every policy violation requires identical enforcement, and moderation decisions may vary depending on the specific circumstances.

4. Types of Moderation

Depending on the circumstances, Lovaio may apply one or more moderation measures, including:

  • requesting additional information;
  • adding informational notices;
  • reducing content visibility;
  • temporarily restricting content;
  • removing content;
  • limiting Marketplace functionality;
  • restricting account features;
  • temporarily suspending accounts;
  • permanently terminating accounts;

Moderation measures

Moderation measures are selected based on the seriousness of the situation and the need to protect users and the Platform.

5. Reporting Content

Users are encouraged to report content that they reasonably believe violates applicable laws or Platform policies.

Reports may relate to, for example:

  • illegal content;
  • fraud;
  • prohibited items;
  • intellectual property infringement;
  • impersonation;
  • harassment;
  • threats;
  • deceptive Marketplace listings;
  • spam;
  • malicious activity;
  • other policy violations;

Report requirements

Reports should be submitted honestly and include sufficient information to assist Lovaio in reviewing the reported content.

6. Initial Review

After receiving a report, Lovaio may conduct an initial assessment to determine whether:

  • the report contains sufficient information;
  • the reported content falls within the scope of Platform moderation;
  • immediate action appears necessary;
  • additional information should be requested;
  • the report appears abusive or manifestly unfounded;

Incomplete reports

Incomplete reports may require additional information before further review can proceed.

7. Investigation Process

Where appropriate, Lovaio may investigate reported content by considering:

  • the reported content itself;
  • surrounding context;
  • previous related activity;
  • information provided by the reporting party;
  • responses from the affected user;
  • available technical information;
  • applicable laws;
  • relevant Platform policies;

Objective review

Lovaio seeks to review reports objectively and in good faith.

Reviews are conducted using a risk-based approach that considers the overall circumstances of each case.

Investigation duration

Some investigations may require additional time depending on their complexity.

8. Automated Moderation

Lovaio may use automated systems to assist with content moderation.

Automated tools may help identify:

  • spam;
  • malicious activity;
  • duplicate content;
  • prohibited items;
  • suspicious Marketplace behaviour;
  • fake accounts;
  • technical abuse;
  • other indicators of potential policy violations;

Automated system limitations

Automated systems assist moderation but do not necessarily make final enforcement decisions without additional review where appropriate.

Automated tools are designed to support, rather than replace, human judgment in appropriate cases.

9. Human Review

Where appropriate, moderation decisions may involve review by trained personnel.

Human review may be particularly important where:

  • reports are complex;
  • context significantly affects interpretation;
  • automated systems produce uncertain results;
  • serious enforcement measures are being considered;
  • users submit appeals;

Additional context

Human reviewers may consider additional contextual information that automated systems cannot reliably evaluate.

10. Temporary Measures

Where reasonably necessary to protect users or the Platform during an investigation, Lovaio may temporarily:

  • limit content visibility;
  • disable Marketplace listings;
  • restrict certain account features;
  • suspend account functionality;
  • preserve relevant information;
  • prevent further distribution of potentially harmful content;

Purpose of temporary measures

Temporary measures do not necessarily indicate that a policy violation has occurred.

Their purpose is to reduce potential risks while an investigation is ongoing.

11. Moderation Decisions

Following review, Lovaio may determine that:

  • no policy violation occurred;
  • additional information is required;
  • the reported content should remain available;
  • informational notices should be added;
  • visibility should be limited;
  • content should be removed;
  • account restrictions should be applied;
  • further monitoring is appropriate;
  • additional enforcement measures are justified;

Decision basis

Moderation decisions are based on the available information at the time of review and may be reconsidered if significant new information becomes available.

12. Notification of Decisions

Where appropriate and consistent with applicable law, Lovaio may notify affected users regarding moderation decisions.

Such notifications may include:

  • the type of action taken;
  • the general reason for the decision;
  • available appeal options where applicable;
  • additional information reasonably necessary to understand the decision;

Notification limitations

In certain situations, Lovaio may limit the information provided where disclosure could:

  • compromise ongoing investigations;
  • facilitate abuse of the Platform;
  • create security risks;
  • violate applicable laws;
  • adversely affect the rights of others;

13. Appeals

Users who believe that moderation action has been applied incorrectly may request a review.

Appeals should include:

  • identification of the challenged decision;
  • an explanation of why the decision is believed to be incorrect;
  • any relevant supporting information;
  • any additional context that may assist the review;

Appeal review

Appeals are reviewed fairly, consistently and in good faith.

Wherever practicable, an appeal may be reviewed by someone who was not primarily responsible for the original decision.

Submitting an appeal does not automatically suspend or reverse the original moderation decision.

Where appropriate, appeals may involve additional human review.

14. Abuse of the Reporting System

The reporting system is intended to promote Platform safety and should be used responsibly.

Users should not:

  • knowingly submit false reports;
  • repeatedly submit abusive reports;
  • attempt to harass other users through reporting;
  • misuse reporting tools to gain a competitive advantage;
  • intentionally interfere with legitimate Marketplace activity;

Enforcement

Abuse of the reporting system may itself constitute a policy violation and may result in appropriate enforcement action.

15. Cooperation with Authorities

Where required or permitted by applicable law, Lovaio may cooperate with competent authorities regarding unlawful content, criminal investigations or other legally authorized requests.

Such cooperation may include:

  • preserving relevant information;
  • responding to lawful requests;
  • restricting access to unlawful content;
  • providing information where legally required;
  • implementing measures required by applicable law;

Authority requests

Lovaio evaluates requests from public authorities in accordance with applicable legal requirements and seeks to protect user rights wherever reasonably possible.

16. Preservation of Evidence

Where reasonably necessary, Lovaio may preserve information relating to reported content for purposes including:

  • investigating policy violations;
  • responding to lawful requests;
  • resolving disputes;
  • protecting users;
  • complying with legal obligations;
  • improving Platform security;

Preservation limitations

Preservation of information does not necessarily indicate that a policy violation has occurred.

Information is retained in accordance with the Privacy Policy, applicable law and legitimate operational requirements.

17. Transparency

Lovaio is committed to applying moderation practices in a transparent and responsible manner.

Transparency helps users better understand how moderation decisions are reached.

Where appropriate, Lovaio may provide information regarding:

  • moderation processes;
  • categories of enforcement actions;
  • Platform safety initiatives;
  • content moderation statistics;
  • legal compliance measures;
  • improvements to moderation systems;

Transparency limitations

Nothing in this section requires Lovaio to disclose confidential information, security measures, proprietary technology or information that could facilitate abuse of the Platform.

18. Repeat Violations

Repeated or serious violations of Platform policies may result in progressively stronger enforcement measures.

Depending on the circumstances, Lovaio may apply measures including:

  • warnings;
  • temporary feature restrictions;
  • temporary account suspension;
  • Marketplace restrictions;
  • permanent account termination;

Individual assessment

Not every repeated violation will automatically result in the same enforcement action.

Each situation may be assessed individually, taking into account the nature, severity and frequency of the conduct.
